Live, Love and Laugh Foundation would like to thank everyone who attended and supported our second annual fundraising gala, A Night the Stars Shine On, held on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at Remi in Manhattan. The event honored Dr. Rachel Humphrey of Bristol Myers-Squibb with the 2007 Stuart Gorman Humanitarian Award.
The gala was attended by over 500 people and was a huge success! Guests sampled food provided by Barna, Grandaisy Bakery, Moda and Yolato. Beverage sponsors of the evening included Ketel One, Dewar’s, Tequila Corazon, Zipang Sake, Brooklyn Brewery and Nando Winery.
Sponsors of the evening included AmeriPath, Gary Bart, Bristol Myers-Squibb, George Brock, Camp Vega, Hampton Jitney Bus Company and Estee Lauder.
The silent auction was an exciting point of the evening. It featured Total Request Live tickets, Betsey Johnson apparel, a wine tasting party and much more! However, the true highlight of the event was the awards presentation, when Dr. Rachel Humphrey spoke about the progress of finding a cure for melanoma. Currently, Dr. Humphrey is developing MDX-101, a drug that could potentially cure high risk stage II, III and IV melanoma. Guests were all very excited to hear about her experience and progress regarding melanoma.
Thank you again to everyone who attended and supported A Night the Stars Shine On! A special thanks to our wonderful sponsors and volunteers who made this evening possible.
Stay tuned for photos from the event!
