Dear Friends,
I write to you announcing an exciting change for the Live, Love and Laugh Foundation. As of January 2009, we have partnered with the Skin Cancer Foundation.
For 30 years, the Skin Cancer foundation has been dedicated to preventing and curing skin cancer through education and funding research. Perhaps you have seen their Seal of Recommendation on any of the 600 sun protection products they endorse.
Since our inception in 2004, the Live, Love and Laugh Foundation has been devoted to raising research funds for Dr. Jedd Wolchok and his colleagues at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Dr. Wolchok and his team are working with immunotherapy techniques thought to potentially cure metastatic melanoma, the most deadly of all skin cancers. These new approaches have gained great recognition but we are still not where we had hoped we would be ------
- 20 people a day die from advanced melanoma
- Melanoma remains the fastest growing cancer in the world
- Melanoma is the most common form of cancer for young
adults aged 25 – 30 and the primary cause of cancer death in young women of that age group
- Melanoma is the most common cause of cancer death for white men, aged 50 and over
Please join us for our third edition of A Night the Stars Shine On. This fundraising event will be held on Friday, May 29th, 2009, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Swan Club in Roslyn Harbor. Our event will feature Casino games, a Chinese Auction and an elaborate Bar-be-que. Click here to view the Invite.
Your past support means so much to me and my family as we continue to move forward with our efforts to save other families from the tragedy that touched ours.
I thank you for joining me on this journey.
With my warmest regards to you and your loved ones,
