The Beginning |
When Stuart died, my mind turned towards the future and how I was going to be positive, grow and learn from this tragic life event. I wanted to find a good way for people to wish our family well and remember Stuart. I immediately began a fund for melanoma research with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. The fund began with my initial contribution and slowly grew through small donations over time.
During this time I became involved with the Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) and was honored for my work at their fundraising event in 2005. While I was honored to have the experiences of working with both Sloan-Kettering and MRF, I really wanted to honor Stuart by creating a foundation that finds its vision and inspiration in what Stuart would have wanted and whose funded projects reflect his beliefs, humor, joy and love for life. |

The Birth of Live, Love and Laugh Foundation |
In 2005 I began working with Darren Port and Kenneth Grosso at Powered By Professionals, a firm that works with families to build charitable foundations. It was through this collaboration that I began Live, Love and Laugh Foundation in Memory of Stuart Gorman.
As the Foundation grew I saw that it had the potential to be the vehicle for a lot of people’s visions and goals for ending metastatic melanoma, not just my family’s vision. For this reason we changed our name to Live, Love and Laugh Foundation in 2006. This was a much more inclusive name that reflected our general feeling about the Foundation which is that we need to come together in a spirit of joy to make a difference in order to honor the people we have lost or the survivors of whom we are so proud. Our experiences in the war against this cancer might differ, but at Live, Love and Laugh Foundation, we recognize that we all want the same things in the end: increased awareness, outreach, up to date and visible information on new and innovative treatments, and a cure.

Live, Love and Laugh Welcomes You |
This Foundation was created with an underlying vision of including every person who wants to make a difference in our Foundation community. We are as excited about a 50 cent donation as we are a $50,000 donation. We are not just building a funding base at Live, Love and Laugh Foundation, we are building a community of concerned citizens who are willing to take a stand against this destructive disease.
We would like to welcome you to a community built around recognizing the joy of living, loving and laughing – a community that does not take this for granted and works everyday to ensure that families around the world do not have to be faced with the realities of metastatic melanoma. We built, and continue to build, our organization around enjoying life and giving back, because in the end, that is what Stuart really gave to us for the years we were privileged to be with him. So it is with this spirit that we give our time and energy to Live, Love and Laugh Foundation. Please join us! Making a Difference |

In thirty years there have been no major medical breakthroughs on metastatic melanoma. This is unacceptable and without hesitation we at Live, Love and Laugh Foundation affirm that we are going to make a change in that statistic by addressing the above areas through the Foundation’s programs.
